Ferrules: the clean finish between head and shaft
The ferrule is the small ring where the shaft enters the clubhead. It gives a clean finish, protects the shaft and gives the club its look.
Choosing the right ferrule
- Inner diameter: must match the shaft, for example .335" for woods, .355" or .370" for irons.
- Outer diameter and height: should match the hosel of the head so the transition is flush.
- Colour: black is classic, coloured rings add accents.
Further parts such as adapters can be found under ferrules and adapters in our workshop supplies.
How do I get the ferrule flush?
The ferrule is pushed onto the shaft before gluing and, once the epoxy has cured, finished flush with the hosel using acetone or on a lathe.
